Deactivation: Road Rager in Green Jaguar

I was out for a long bike ride on an uncharacteristically warm Saturday in January, minding my business and following the rules of the road. After executing a left turn at a busy intersection where several cars proceeded cautiously past me (thank you!), a 50-something man in a green Jaguar pulled even with me, honked his horn, and gave me the finger. Utterly perplexed, I sat up, extended my arms, shrugged my shoulders, and yelled "What's the problem?!" My presence on the road may have slowed him down by five seconds. I guess he was in a hurry to get back to his miserable life. Respect the lifestyle, dude! You have been Deactivated.

My faith in the human spirit was restored, however, on the rest of my ride as I crossed paths with other cyclists, all giving me the trademark wave. One guy even hollered, "What's up my man!?" as he rode into a headwind. Now that's what I'm talking about.
